The Tree of Life

In the story of Adam and Eve in the old Testament the Tree of Life is mentioned. Under the on the surface simplistic tale lies some deep esoteric truths.

Adam and Eve are symbolic of humanity in it's original "Edenic", innocent ,and non-selfconscious state.

When they ate of the Tree of Knowledge they became self-conscious and hence the perceptions of "you" versus "me" , "God" as different from "me" arose, and so the feelings of shame and guilt arose along with all other perceptions rooted in duality. Duality meant that perceptions of Good and Evil, Man and Woman , Pleasure and Pain arose, and so the original paradisic state of undifferated happiness was lost and consciousness became immersed in a world of it's own making.

The point to be emphazised in all this is that the "eating of the Tree of Knowledge" is nescessary for the evolution of consciousness from it's undifferated state of consciousness to it's fully self-aware expression as a center of divine creativity.
